Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Youssef Raji confirmed from New York that what Lebanon needs from the international community and Arab brothers is pressure on Israel to stop its attacks and withdraw from Lebanon, and on Iran to restrain Hezbollah from the state. In an interview with the Jordanian "Al-Mamlaka" channel, Raji considered that the party had entered Lebanon into a war in which it had nothing to do, to support Iran and bring about a new occupation, destruction, and deaths in the thousands. He called on our brothers and friends to help us so that Lebanon can regain its complete independence from some domination by an outlaw armed militia, explaining that the government has taken a very difficult decision, which no government has taken in 35 years, and implementation has begun, but the issue is complex, because Hezbollah’s weapons and financing are more than 45 years old, and the dilemma cannot be solved from one day to the next with the push of a button. Raji stressed that the government is continuing with its decision and there is no going back from it, but it will take some time to implement it. Regarding UNIFIL, the Foreign Minister replied: Unfortunately, we were not able to extend its mandate for regional reasons and others related to the composition of the UN Security Council, explaining that there is an effort at the present time to find a force or framework that would be an alternative to the international force under the umbrella of the United Nations, if possible.
