Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam met with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Raji, and Qatari Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi. During the meeting, the latest developments in the region were discussed, and the two sides stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to achieve de-escalation, preserve the security and stability of Gulf and regional countries, and spare them further confrontations. Bilateral relations and ways to enhance them were also discussed. Prime Minister Salam thanked the State of Qatar for its continuous support for Lebanon, and discussions covered ways to enhance support and cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the energy and electricity sectors, given their importance in alleviating the living difficulties faced by the Lebanese people, in addition to supporting the Lebanese Army and enhancing its capabilities. The discussions also touched on ways to enhance economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, and to support the path of recovery and reconstruction in Lebanon.
