A series of consecutive explosions echoed at night in a Syrian Army site in the vicinity of the town of Al-Eis in the southern Aleppo countryside, amid official warnings against approaching the site of the explosions or gathering near it. The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced the closure of the "Damascus-Aleppo" international highway at the Ebla University junction and at the Khan Touman bridge from the direction of Aleppo, following the explosions that occurred in the Al-Eis area, while the Syrian News Agency reported that the explosions took place at a site belonging to the Syrian Army in this area. Aleppo Governor Azzam Al-Gharib demanded that residents not leave their homes, and not head to the places of the explosions or gather near them, to ensure their safety and the safety of response teams, confirming via his X account that hospitals, ambulance, and emergency teams are on high alert. Faisal Mohammad, Civil Defense Operations Commander in Aleppo, said that the continued explosions in the Al-Eis area south of Aleppo are hindering the arrival of ambulance and rescue teams to the location, warning civilians against approaching the site of the explosions. Circulated video clips showed massive explosions and simultaneous fires at the site, while Syria TV reported that the number of explosions in the Al-Eis area rose to 5, noting that the explosions returned to the same site after stopping for minutes. Later, the Aleppo Operations Commander in the Emergency Directorate announced that Civil Defense teams entered the explosion area and evacuated 4 injuries, noting that work continues to evacuate homes close to the vicinity of the explosion and close the roads leading to them to ensure the safety of civilians and facilitate the work of evacuation teams. Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed Al-Saleh also said that the Syrian authorities "are directly following up on the developments of the explosion incident that occurred in the Al-Eis area," warning against approaching the explosion site or heading to the areas surrounding it, due to the direct threat that shrapnel, unexploded ordnance, and dangerous objects may pose to the safety of civilians.
