On Friday, the Turkish authorities asked Interpol to issue a red notice against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as part of an ongoing trial in connection with the attack on activists of the “Resilience Flotilla” to support Gaza.  The Turkish Minister of Justice indicated that judicial procedures related to the attack on the flotilla activists are continuing, stressing that the 11th Istanbul Supreme Criminal Court is trying Netanyahu and 35 people. In this context, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office described Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as an "anti-Semitic dictator," pledging that Israel "will continue to strongly confront Turkey's attempts to destabilize the region." Netanyahu's office said in a statement that "Erdogan is an anti-Semitic dictator who committed massacres against the Kurds, supports the massacre of the terrorist organization Hamas, and oppresses his own people," stressing that "Israel will continue to strongly confront Turkey's attempts to destabilize the region and any threat to its security."
