The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Lebanon announced that, as of September 1, 2026, only biometric Lebanese passports will be accepted for visa applications to travel to Cyprus.
The embassy explained that holders of valid long-term Cypriot visas issued on non-biometric passports can continue to use them, provided that they present the canceled non-biometric passport that holds the visa, along with the new and valid biometric passport when travelling.
She indicated that this measure comes after the Lebanese General Directorate of Public Security announced the cancellation of non-biometric passports
