The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On 8/18/2026, a dispute occurred, including an exchange of fire, between the two citizens (M.K.) and (A.S.) which led to the death of the latter in the Abu Samra area - Tripoli, as a result of previous disputes. Immediately, army units carried out a series of raids in the Dam and Farz area to arrest the shooter (M.K.) and seized weapons and military ammunition. In parallel, and as a result of security follow-up and pursuit, the location of the shooter was identified near the Lebanese-Syrian border in the Abboudieh-Akkar area, where an army unit worked to cordon off the place and stopped the shooter. It also arrested the Syrians (M.A.) and (F.A.) for trying to help him flee to Syrian territory. The seized items were handed over and investigations began with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
