President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, announced that the death toll from the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24 rose to 6,438 people, compared to last week's toll.
The two earthquakes struck an area near the Venezuelan coast.
Although nearly two months have passed since the disaster, relatives of the missing people and rescue teams continue to search among the rubble, at a time when official figures reveal the extent of the extensive damage to the affected areas.
