The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces indicated that a large number of citizens receive text messages (SMS) on their cell phones, the sender of which claims to be issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, claiming that there is a traffic violation resulting from exceeding the permitted speed, mentioning the violation number and date and referring to the traffic law currently in effect. These messages also include an electronic link through which the violation fine is requested to be paid.
Therefore, the General Directorate asked the recipients of these messages not to click on the aforementioned link, or enter any personal or banking information through it. This may expose bank accounts and cards to the risk of data and money theft.
