The Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Hajjar, confirmed after the meeting of the Central Internal Security Council that “the government is keeping pace with developments in the south, including the Israeli attacks and incursions, and these challenges have resulted in multiple crises, including a large displacement to safer areas, and the greatest effort is focused on Beirut and Mount Lebanon. The security services and the state are present and taking the necessary measures and keeping pace with the displacement movement.”
He stressed that "the security services are working to ensure the security of the Lebanese and the displaced and to enhance the security presence through information and intelligence services to keep pace with what is happening on the ground, in addition to attending in military uniform, which provides a kind of reassurance."
He added: "The security services are keeping pace with ambulance and rescue operations to ensure the security of the displaced and communities, and the city of Beirut always receives increased attention, and there is a large presence of our agencies in Mount Lebanon as well."
He stressed, "It is unacceptable for the presence of weapons in shelter centers. We have given clear instructions, and there will be intervention in any situation that requires the intervention of security forces. A number of arrests have occurred in a number of shelter centers and on the roads when necessary."
