The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, issued the following statement: We support the amnesty law proposal that was agreed upon by the majority of Sunni representatives who met yesterday in the Parliament. By the way, this has been our position since the first moment the amnesty law was introduced, and we do not yet know the reasons that prompted some representatives to disturb our position. But, in the end, the confusion fails and the whole truth emerges. Based on this, we call on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Nabih Berri, to hold a session as soon as possible, with the agenda being at the top of the amnesty law proposal that was agreed upon by the majority of Sunni representatives in the House of Representatives, in order to achieve justice and remove a persistent injustice that has lasted for many years.
