President Joseph Aoun arrived at Ankara Military Airport, at the beginning of a visit during which he will meet his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and a number of officials.
Aoun visited the tomb of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, where he laid a wreath and wrote in the Golden Record: “Ataturk’s experience, with its insistence and steadfastness on the idea despite all the difficulties, remains a source of inspiration for every people seeking to build their true state... and the Lebanese people, who are friendly to the Turkish people, see in this experience an example to be emulated for consolidating the state of law and institutions, the state of justice and equality.”
