His Excellency Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Nabih Berri, received a call from French President Emmanuel Macron, during which they discussed the latest developments in the situation in Lebanon and the region and the political and field developments as a result of Israel’s continued aggression against Lebanon and its systematic destruction of dozens of occupied southern Lebanese villages and towns. During the call, President Macron stressed France's continued support for Lebanon and its giving of attention and priority to its stability, preserving its sovereignty and supporting it at various levels, especially support for the army and reconstruction, as well as the readiness of France and friendly countries to support Lebanon in order to overcome the delicate stage it is going through. President Berri thanked the French President and France for their permanent and supportive support for Lebanon, stressing the importance of quickly making exceptional international efforts to compel Israel to stop its war on Lebanon and withdraw from the territories it occupies, reaching the international borders, the deployment of the Lebanese army and the return of the people to their towns, cities and villages, in preparation for launching the reconstruction workshop, stressing the importance and centrality of the presence of UNIFIL forces in southern Lebanon and their role in implementing the full provisions of Resolution 1701. In the matter related to the reform path, financially and economically, President Berri assured the French President that the Parliament is continuing diligently to complete all the reform legislation required to complete the agreement with the International Monetary Fund.
