The Association of Public Basic Education Teachers announced that the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Rima Karami, confirmed during a meeting with the association the adoption of teaching hours four days a week in public schools, while maintaining the educational quorum as was approved during the last academic year. The association explained that the minister indicated that the mechanism for starting the new academic year, scheduled for mid-September, will be announced during the coming period. Regarding troubled schools, Karami confirmed that the disbursement of dues is still awaiting the signature of the Ministry of Finance, noting that the Ministry is following up on this file on a daily basis to complete it as quickly as possible. She also stressed work to accelerate the transfer of the first batch to school funds for the 2026-2027 academic year, ensuring a smooth start to the new academic year.
