Representative Saeed Al-Asmar considered that “the ambiguity resulting from yesterday’s meeting between Trump and Netanyahu is normal in light of the changes taking place,” noting that “there is a new outline of reality in the region sponsored by the United States in full coordination with the Israeli side.” He stressed that "there is American determination to make the framework agreement a success in Lebanon, and to force Israel to adhere to the withdrawals that were agreed upon in Rome," pointing out that "the path in Lebanon also seems to be heading towards accelerating the pace, because things remaining as they are may doom the agreement to failure." He stressed that "the Israeli withdrawal will not be completed completely until Hezbollah is disarmed, because this matter constitutes a priority for Lebanon on the one hand, and for the Americans and the Israelis on the other hand," adding: "In order for Lebanon to emerge from this furnace, we must begin by extending the state's sovereignty over its entire territory."
