“Al-Hikma Beirut” team succeeded in “dragging” the final round series of the Lebanese Basketball Championship, to a sixth match out of a possible seven, with its traditional rival, “Riyadi Beirut”, the defending champion, as it tied it 2-2, defeating it by a margin of 12 points, 90-78 (rounds 27-18, 43-36, 62-60, 90-78) in front of a large crowd. Representative Strida Geagea presented it this evening in the Ghazir Sports Club hall. Al-Riyadi took the lead for the first time in the third half, 53-52, after a hat-trick from Karim Zenoun, after starting the half trailing by ten points. Captain Akir Saud restored the lead to Al Riyadi 65-64 at the beginning of the fourth period. However, Youssef Khayyat “Yo-Yo” turned things around with a distinguished individual performance and succeeded in shooting from difficult situations, so the green team decided the match, crowning a great performance from all its members. The fifth match between the two teams will be held at 9:30 pm on Thursday, July 31, in the Saeb Salam Hall in the Sports Club in Al-Manara. The sixth match will be held in the sports club hall at half past nine on the evening of Saturday, the first of next August.
