President Joseph Aoun presented with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam the general situation in the country, in light of recent developments. The discussion also discussed the visit that Salam intends to make next Sunday to Iraq, where he will discuss with his counterpart, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Kadhim al-Zaidi, ways to strengthen Lebanese-Iraqi relations in various fields. Salam was briefed by Aoun on the results of his visit to the United States of America, especially the meetings he held with American officials, in addition to Washington’s commitment to implementing the framework formula that had been agreed upon. For his part, President Nawaf Salam presented the President of the Republic in the context of his visit to the south, specifically the western town of Zawtar, following the Israelis’ withdrawal from it, stressing that he would stand by the people of the south and work to secure their needs.
