Prime Minister Nawaf Salam welcomed US President Donald Trump's announcement to allow American airlines to operate direct flights to Beirut. He stressed that the Lebanese government is ready to keep pace with the executive and technical procedures required to put the decision into effect as soon as possible. Salam considered that the step represents an important opportunity to enhance travel and communication between Lebanon and the United States, and to support the Lebanese economy.
