President Najib Mikati sent a cable to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressing his condolences on the death of his father, the former Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. President Mikati said: “The deceased left a political and humanitarian legacy that extended to Lebanon, where his name was associated with pivotal milestones that are still present in Lebanese memory, and he had good deeds in all the ordeals that we went through. May God protect you and prolong your life, and preserve sister Qatar, the Emir and the people.” Likewise, President Mikati cabled his condolences to the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani
