House Speaker Nabih Berri commented on the words of US President Donald Trump regarding pledges by Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa to help deal with Hezbollah, stressing that Syria will not interfere in the Lebanese file. In an interview with Al-Akhbar newspaper, Berri indicated that “Syria is not in this context,” adding that his meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani clearly addressed various issues. Berri stressed the need to return to what was mentioned regarding Lebanon in the Iranian-American memorandum of understanding that began to be negotiated in Islamabad.
