The family of American actor Nicholas Brendon announced his death at the age of 54 from natural causes in a statement published on social media on Friday, without specifying the exact date of his death and its precise causes. Brendon played the character of Xander Harris for seven seasons, from 1997 to 2003, in the series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” about a teenager who fights vampires and other monsters, while at the same time facing the difficulties of life in high school. Brendon was portraying her boyfriend. The Los Angeles-born actor was also known for his roles in such series as “Criminal Minds,” “Private Practice” and “Kitchen Confidential,” a television adaptation of the memoirs of New York celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain.
