Roads closed tomorrow... here's why

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces announced that on July 5, 2026, the “Lebanon Official Road Championship” for the year 2026 will be held in a bicycle race in the Bteghrine area on the road extending between Hawthorn and Baskinta, and on several laps on a closed track between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. noon.
The intersections will be closed and traffic will be diverted on the race route, starting at 7:00 a.m. on the aforementioned date until completion.
He added in a statement: “On July 5, 2026, the Beirut Marathon Association will hold the Run The City race in the city of Beirut, between 6:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., starting from Prince Bashir Street, opposite Al-Amin Mosque, all the way to Ahmed Shawqi Street, opposite the Metropole Restaurant, and the number of participants is estimated at about 1,700 runners, male and female.”
For this occasion, the race track will be completely isolated from 4:30 am on 7/5/2026 until completion, and the cars along the race track will be removed starting at 18:00 on 7/4/2026.
