US President Donald Trump said that Iran is "seeking by all means" to reach a political settlement with the United States, stressing that Washington gave Tehran a week to stop operations "out of kindness", to make room for a funeral ceremony.
Trump added that the United States has made more positive contributions to humanity than any other country, considering that what his country has achieved is not the norm in the world, but rather a “unique exception.”
He also said that American identity is facing renewed attack as what he described as the "communist menace" returns to the United States decades after the end of the Cold War, claiming that newcomers to the country are espousing communist ideas that are inconsistent with the American way of life and economic success.
