The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On 6/22/2026, an army unit was arrested as a result of a security monitoring and follow-up operation in the southern suburb of Syria (A.Q.) for killing the citizen (S.Y.) on 1/10/2026 in the Sin El Fil - Matn area. Another unit also raided the homes of wanted persons in the Doura-Hermel area, arrested 3 citizens for the crime of drug trafficking and drug use, and seized a quantity of drugs, weapons, and military ammunition in their possession, in addition to military equipment. The seized items were handed over and investigations began with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
