Vance: Iran talks “historic”

US Vice President J.D. Vance confirmed on Sunday that President Donald Trump has asked to “turn over a new page” with the aim of bringing about a change in US relations with the Iranian people.
Vance described the ongoing talks with Iran, which aim to reach an agreement that includes the nuclear program and associated sanctions, within the framework of negotiations held in Switzerland, as “historic.”
He explained that the technical talks that began in Switzerland will allow the two sides to sit together and work to resolve the outstanding issues between them.
Regarding Lebanon, Vance indicated that the file has witnessed significant progress during the past three days in the course of the ceasefire.
He added that peace has never been an easy matter, and requires continuous work, stressing that President Trump is committed to advancing regional peace efforts.
