The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Rima Karami, inspected the Teachers’ Home in Sidon, in the presence of the President of the Hariri Development Foundation, Mrs. Bahia Hariri, the Head of the Preparation and Training Office at the Educational Center, Rania Ghasoub, the Head of the Education Department at UNICEF, Nathalie Sabatier, the UNESCO representative, Assem Abi Ali, the Director of the Home, Zainab Saadia, and a group of public and private school principals belonging to the Sidon and Neighborhood School Network.
I listened to the students and explained to them the importance of participating in support courses that save families the cost of hours of private education that they need to strengthen themselves in preparation for the exams that were postponed due to the repeated Israeli attacks.
She pointed out that "the Ministry holds partnerships with many international organizations, associations and partners to provide support, especially for students who are suffering from the repercussions of displacement and war."
Karami responded to students’ questions about maintaining or canceling exams, stressing that this matter “carries basic security aspects, and that the decision in this regard is not in the hands of the Ministry of Education, but rather in the hands of the Council of Ministers.”
She pointed out that the Ministry has placed before it the possibility of postponing and reducing a number of classes within the subjects, and asking for help in the event that there are circumstances that prevent one of the students from taking the exams, and that the Ministry has prepared mechanisms and preparations for these situations, while the rest is in the hands of the Council of Ministers.
Mrs. Bahia Al-Hariri stressed “the importance of the educational support provided by her institution this year in partnership with the Ministry in the learning and teaching centers at the Teachers’ House in Sidon,” and encouraged the students to be diligent and committed to preparing for the official exams, thus increasing their readiness to move toward university education. She expressed her appreciation for the efforts made by the Minister to maintain the official certificate due to its importance in building the students’ future.

On the other hand, and as part of the Ministry’s follow-up of this process, the Director of Secondary Education, Khaled Fayed, inspected the Teaching and Learning Center at the Teachers’ Home in Bir Hassan in Beirut. He toured the classrooms and checked on the students’ preparations and the progress of things, praising their courage and urging them to obtain the greatest amount of information, especially since they are at the gates of entering universities.
Candidates appreciated this step, and demanded that the number of days of the support course at the Teaching and Learning Center be increased if the exams were postponed.
