The municipality of Labaya called on its residents who are outside the town to be patient in returning and not to risk heading there at the present time, due to the continuing state of security uncertainty in the region, and the lack of a clear picture of the field conditions yet. The municipality said in a statement: “Based on its responsibility towards the safety of the people, it is constantly monitoring developments, and will inform citizens as soon as clear data is available that allows the appropriate decision to be taken regarding return.” She added: “While we appreciate our people’s longing for their town and homes, we stress that safety remains above all considerations, and we call on everyone to be patient and adhere to the official directives until the situation is completely stabilized. May God protect all of our people and protect Baya and Lebanon from all harm.”
