Fady Mahouly
Israel officially claimed responsibility for the raid that targeted the southern suburb of Beirut, while Israeli media revealed additional details about the target that it said was within the scope of the operation.
Israeli Channel 12 reported that the raid targeted Hezbollah's communications system official, noting that the building that was bombed was used as the party's headquarters in the southern suburb.
The channel also stated that the main target in the operation is a leader in Hezbollah, without any official information having yet been issued confirming the identity of the targeted person or his fate.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said that the Israeli army carried out strikes on Hezbollah targets in the southern suburbs, stressing that Israel "will not tolerate any shooting on its territory."
The raid targeted an apartment in the Ghobeiry area within the southern suburb of Beirut, without prior warning, which led to a state of panic and alert in the area, while the concerned authorities are still assessing the damage and consequences of the targeting.
