The South Korean national team defeated the Czech national team 2-1, on Thursday evening local time, Friday morning GMT, in the opening round of the first group of the World Cup, which is hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The Czech team scored through Ladislav Krejci in the 59th minute, before the South Korean team responded with two consecutive goals from Hwang In-beom and Oh Hyun-gyu in the 67th and 80th minutes, respectively.
