Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal said that she believes that the risk of a US military aggression against the island is increasing with the stagnation of negotiations between the two countries. Vidal accused Washington of fabricating pretexts to portray Cuba as a threat to American national security to justify launching aggression. "The threat of military aggression against Cuba is increasing day by day," she said. Cuban authorities said they would not allow interference in internal affairs and criticized the United States for lack of good faith. Vidal noted that “the channel of communication between the two governments remains open, but no significant progress has been made.” “Stressing that Cuba has reasons to doubt the seriousness and responsibility of the United States government,” according to Reuters.
