The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir suggested in a narrow security discussion last night that “buildings in the Beirut suburb should be attacked in response to Hezbollah’s threat with explosive drones.” It also quoted sources saying, “The Americans dictate the agenda to us. We do not have any independence in Lebanon to do whatever we want. We should have achieved this independence, but we abandoned proposals from American parties in pursuit of diplomatic moves.”
