Several banners raised in the capital, Beirut, attracted attention, bringing together sheikhs Ahmed Al-Asir, Shadi Mawlawi, and Omar Al-Atrash. The raising of banners and pictures coincided with a demonstration that took place in the New Road area in solidarity with the detained Islamists and convicts in Lebanon and Syria, amid objections to the wording of the draft general amnesty law, which was considered unjust against the Lebanese Islamists in Syria and Lebanon’s prisons.
