The Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, received today the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sky Lounges Services, Ziad Al-Mulla, following the company’s victory in the bid to operate and invest in President Rene Moawad Airport - Qlayaat. The meeting comes, according to a statement from the media office of the Minister of Works, “within the framework of following up on the process of restarting a civil airport in northern Lebanon, which constitutes an essential step on the path to activating air facilities and strengthening the infrastructure of the transportation sector in the country.” The two sides stressed that "the project falls within a strategic national vision to develop the air transport sector in Lebanon, and enhance its operational and logistical capabilities, in a way that reflects economic growth and provides direct and indirect job opportunities, in addition to stimulating investment movement and supporting development in the areas surrounding the airport." “The project is considered one of the vital projects aimed at strengthening the position of northern Lebanon as a major hub in the transportation and services sector.”
