A fraud operation in real estate departments... and the arrest of those involved

The General Directorate of State Security - Department of Information, Guidance and Public Relations announced in a statement that, as part of ongoing efforts to combat forgery within public institutions and administrations, the Mount Lebanon Regional Directorate arrested a citizen in the Real Estate Departments building in Matn on 5/12/2026, after it was suspected that he was in possession of two ownership documents whose legality and authenticity were questionable.
It was reported that during his investigation, it was found that he had received the two bonds from the Lebanese S. Kh.
The General Directorate of State Security stated that, based on a referral from the competent judiciary, the aforementioned was summoned and interrogated, where he admitted that he had photographed two ownership documents (“green instrument”) using colored pictures and delivered them to the concerned party with the aim of fraud and making them believe that they were valid official documents, in preparation for their use in real estate transactions.
He was arrested, and the seized items were deposited with the competent judiciary to carry out the legal action against him.
