The Lebanese Internal Security Forces, in cooperation with the Al-Resala Scouts Association and a number of associations, and with the efforts of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and in coordination with the Beirut Municipality and the Ministries of Social Affairs and the Interior, began transferring the displaced people located at the waterfront in Beirut, especially on private lands, to lands belonging to the Beirut Municipality a few kilometers away from the current location.
According to the information, the Beirut Municipality has provided about 200 new, larger and more suitable tents, to be installed in the new location.
During the next ten days, the site will be equipped with tents and latrines, in addition to providing food, drink and clothing for the displaced.
The information indicated that the new site would be allocated exclusively for displaced Lebanese who were originally residing at the BIEL point, without transferring or adding displaced persons from other areas.
As for the displaced Syrians present at the site, coordination will be made regarding them with Lebanese General Security, either to facilitate their return to Syria and settle their situation, or to transfer them to other shelter centers.
The displaced people in Ramlet El Bayda, Raouche and other areas in Beirut will also be transferred to the Sports City.
