Within days...ceasefire negotiations are on the table
Fady Mahouly
Two Israeli officials revealed to Reuters that Israel and Lebanon may hold talks during the next few days with the aim of reaching a permanent ceasefire, in light of the ongoing military escalation between the two parties.
The two officials explained that these talks may address broader security arrangements, including the issue of disarming Hezbollah within the framework of any possible settlement.
Talk about these contacts comes at a time when the field escalation between Israel and Lebanon continues, with the intensification of Israeli raids on large areas in the south and the Bekaa, while cross-border missile attacks continue.
In the same context, Israeli Channel 14 reported that the Israeli army plans to establish or control about 18 sites in southern Lebanon by the end of the ongoing military operation.
