The General Directorate of Customs announced in a statement, “Within the framework of the work of the General Directorate of Customs - the Tripoli police officer in the field of combating smuggling, a patrol from the Al-Aboudi detachment and the officer’s investigation seized a large quantity of smuggled smoke and honey following a raid on a shop in the Akkar region. The goods were seized and taken with their owner to the Al-Aboudi Customs Center, and an investigation was launched with those concerned under the supervision of the competent judiciary to carry out the legal requirements.” She pointed out that "this process comes as part of the ongoing efforts to protect the consumer, preserve food security, and prevent wasting fees on the state treasury." The Directorate also announced that “the Wildlife Control Division in Beirut seized large quantities of smuggled seasonal fruits exceeding two tons, and work is being done to complete investigations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.”
